John Hindmarsh

Executive Chairman

John graduated from The University of NSW with an Honours Degree in Building. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Building and holds an “A” Class Building Licence in the ACT.

John has over 40 years’ experience at all levels of management in property, construction and investment in Australia and overseas. He is Executive Chairman of Hindmarsh, an organisation established in 1979. The company has interests in project and construction management, consulting, general contracting, property development and investment, car parking, retirement village operations, investment syndication and venture capital.

Darren Dougan

Chief Executive Officer

Darren has significant experience in senior executive roles across a diverse set of industries and corporate structures both in Australia and the United States.

As Chief Executive Officer, Darren is responsible for all of Hindmarsh’s business activities including construction, property development, retirement, parking and property financing.

Prior to joining Hindmarsh, Darren was the co-founder and CFO of Rex Airlines.  Darren also held senior positions at Qantas and the strategy consulting firm Bain & Company.  Darren holds an MBA (Kellogg) and Engineering and Science degrees (Queensland University).

Stephen Hardy

Executive Director

Stephen has 40 years of experience in development, project management and investment within the property and construction industry, with over 25 years working with Hindmarsh. This experience covers a broad range of complex and major projects and investments in Australia, the USA and South East Asia

Stephen holds an MBA (Univ. Melbourne) and Science and Engineering degrees (Univ. Sydney). He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Australian Capital Ventures Ltd, investing in early stage companies in the ACT region and overviews Hindmarsh activities relating to China. He has successfully identified, purchased, managed and on-sold major Hindmarsh property investments in Vietnam and the USA.

Stewart Hindmarsh

Non-Executive Director

Stewart is the Chief Executive of the World Nomads Group, a leading provider of travel insurance and safety services. The Group services over 2 million customers in more than 130 countries.

Before joining World Nomads Group, Stewart was a Director of Grant Samuel, a leading independent corporate advisory group. During his 11 years with Grant Samuel, Stewart advised on a wide range of corporate advisory transactions including mergers, takeovers, trade sales and equity raisings across a broad range of industries including the building, food and beverage and travel industries.

Stewart was admitted as a solicitor in 1997 and is a director of Tyrrell's Wines.
