5 Farrell Place

Construction of this commercial office building was completed in June 2007. The building incorporated 9 levels of office accommodation, roof level plant room, ground floor café and 5 levels of basement car parking for 60 vehicles.

Hindmarsh was subsequently awarded a $10.4M, 7,500m2 fit-out of the building for the Commonwealth Department of Environment and Water Resources, the fit-out construction works incorporated:

• A Climate controlled storage area

• Basement locker-shower-change rooms and Basement Gymnasium

• Basement bicycle lock-up for 100 bicycles

• Installation of Speed Stile security races

• Extensive Building Management controls and metering to provide state of the art energy, water and security management

• Two key design elements for the fitout were that the fitout achieve an Australian Building Green House Rating (ABGR) Scheme of 4.5 Stars and a Green Business Council of Australia (GBCA) Greenstar Office Design v.2 rating of 4 Stars

DEWR subsequently engaged Hindmarsh to carry out an additional 6,000mfit-out in another major Canberra building occupied by the Department in 2008.
