First Ever Homes On Offer At Marigal Gardens

Around 250 registrations of interest in Marigal Gardens have already been received, with these people to have the first opportunity to secure their future in the brand new retirement community set in the spectacular Tuggeranong Valley.

With DA approval for the initial residences received earlier this month following an extensive community consultation process, Hindmarsh anticipates construction will commence in mid 2016. Completion of the first residences at Marigal Gardens is scheduled for the first half of 2017.

“The initial response to Marigal Gardens has been overwhelming, highlighting the robust demand for quality retirement living options in the Tuggeranong Valley. We’re anticipating a strong response to the first ever homes offered in the new community,” said Hindmarsh National Retirement Manager Erik Boddeus.

“Marigal Gardens will incorporate a host of lifestyle facilities for residents, including a community centre with lounge rooms, function room, meeting room, library, barbecue area, bar, theatrette, hairdressing salon, security cameras and patrols, pharmacy delivery service and a community bus,” he said.

The new Marigal Gardens community follows Hindmarsh’s successful The Grange Deakin and Bellerive retirement communities in the ACT. On completion it will provide around 140 independent living units to meet growing demand for high quality, community-focused living options for retirees.

The community will comprise a mix of independent living unit apartments and semi-detached style villas designed to take advantage of the site’s convenient location while celebrating the natural beauty of the Tuggeranong Valley. The configuration of the homes will provide a mix of 2 or 3 bedrooms with 1 or 2 bathrooms.

Marigal Gardens is being developed on a 3.6 hectare site on the corner of O’Halloran Circuit and Snodgrass Crescent in Kambah, within minutes of numerous golf courses, tennis courts, licensed clubs, hospitals and places of worship. The larger town centres of Tuggeranong, Woden and Civic are also nearby.

“Marigal Gardens shapes as an ideal complement to the local Kambah community, blending high quality and carefully designed residences with a full suite of lifestyle services to add a new dimension to the area,” Mr Boddeus said.

“Residents will be able to enjoy their retirement in peaceful surrounds in close proximity to shopping, health and recreational facilities, while local businesses including the adjacent neighbourhood shopping centre will enjoy a welcome boost in trade,” he said.
