$12m Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital Emergency Department

This $12m project delivered on behalf of Health Infrastructure NSW involves redeveloping the Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital Emergency Department, to meet the needs of the growing and diverse population of the Bankstown local community. The redevelopment of the exisitng Hospital will deliver contemporary facilities with improved patient care.
 
The project includes a combination of new build and refurbishment and fitout of the existing emergency department and adjoining carparking facilities, with the existing operational constraints of the hospital remaining uninterrupted as practicably possible.

Complex staging of works within the existing facilities of the emergency department for refit activities has been carefully planned and maintained with active stakeholder engagement.
 
Key features of the project include:

• An increase in area and treatment spaces;
• Enhanced emergency care for the local community;
• Additional emergency department short stay unit capacity;
• Streaming of patients to the most appropriate environment of care to reflect their level of complexity; and
• An improved emergency care experience for staff, patients and visitors.
