Project Overview

The Charles Darwin University (CDU) is a truly unique institution based in the heart of the Northern Territory.

Hindmarsh was engaged by CDU to deliver a new administration building at the Casuarina campus, also known as Orange Building 12, to present a high-quality focal point, and new entrance for the University.

The project involved building the three (3) level, 5,200 sqm facility, including car parking, external covered areas, and extensive landscaping. The facility provides three primary functions: University Administration incorporating the university executive, Art Museum with associated storage facility and undercover car park facility for 24 vehicles.

The building was constructed utilizing an in-situ concrete frame with a variety of external cladding types including pre-cast concrete, glass, and aluminum composite sheeting.
