$15m Fairfield City Council Dutton Lane Retail Precinct

 

Dutton Lane Shopping Precinct is located 30 km south-west of the Sydney CBD, in the local government area of the City of Fairfield.
The development is centrally located in the busy Cabramatta central business district, in close proximity to Cabramatta Railway Station and is part of the hub for the local shopping precinct, community celebrations, tourism and cultural activities.

Hindmarsh worked collaboratively with the City of Fairfield to manage the local community and their interests during the transformation from the existing on-grade bitumen car park to a three level retail building, with commercial office areas and associated parking.

The site area is 5,672m2 and is bounded by three existing public roads, adjacent to multiple neighbouring retail outlets.

The redevelopment of Dutton Lane included:

  • Passenger lifts servicing three levels
  • Public amenities
  • Public Domain works, including landscaping, public art, road works and connections to roads and external paving
The project was the 2017 Winner of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Awards for Excellence in Government Leadership.
