Key Features

Finnish Embassy

The Finnish Embassy in Yarralumla was a project with a high level of detail and innovation. The building facade was constructed mostly of glass, as are some of the trafficable floors.

Technically this was a very difficult part of the project. It was critical that the facade was waterproof, and working in close consultation with the subcontractor and designer, this was achieved through the implementation of thorough Quality Assurance procedures.

The heating system for the building is geothermal, with the main finishes throughout the building in timber. The finish to the timber was required to be immaculate and is the main feature on the staircases, walls and ceiling.

Hindmarsh has accomplished a very high level of quality in construction and finishes and has fully responded to the demanding architectural concepts and construction detail in a project that has received wide acclaim.
