Montrose Apartments

The Montrose Apartment Development comprises of ground floor retail spaces of 5 units with a total GFA of 552m2, 104 apartments over ten levels, with three levels of basement parking providing 77 car spaces plus bicycle racks.

There are 104 apartments consisting of a mix of 30 x Studio (41-47m2), 33 x 1 Bedroom (52-65m2) and 41 x 2 Bedroom (68-88m2) apartments. The development also features a communal roof garden for the use of residents. Ten percent of the apartments are adaptable for disabled or infirm use.

The location is on the eastern side of the Pacific Highway between McLaren and Berry Streets with the rear of the complex facing Angelo Street that also provides access to the basement parking.

The challenges faced by Hindmarsh during the design to construct phase of the contract in reducing the build cost included the redesign of the structural component of the two transfer levels and shoring system that reduced the cost by approximately $700,000.
