Key Features

Norman Park State School - Block G GLA

Construction of a new General Learning Area (GLA) that connects into the existing school. The height of the suspended first floor level is approximately 5 metres, enabling new building levels to match the height of the existing structure.

The roof structure and cladding are dominant features. They incorporate parabolic roof cladding and skylights to provide natural light into the new building.

Extensive carpentry work was undertaken, evidenced by exposed rafters and laminated timber beams used in the project. Disabled access ramps were constructed and a covered link bridge provides access between new and existing facilities. A disabled lift was also installed.
