$26m One Onslow Avenue

One Onslow Avenue is a unique development of nine elegant harbour view apartments of grand proportions. A landmark development, it occupies a prime site, located between the waterfront and Macleay Street, adjacent to Elizabeth Bay House and the McElhone Reserve, nestled in Sydney’s exclusive eastern suburbs.

Meticulously designed and seamlessly integrated into the urban environment, One Onslow Avenue has attracted the most discerning of residents. The development proved to a success before construction began, with over half the apartments pre-sold in the first week of market release.

Hindmarsh was both developer and design and construct builder for the Onslow Apartments. The building comprises 6 levels and consists of 9 apartments, a mix of three and four bedroom, a sub penthouse and one penthouse, both with four bedrooms. There is an on grade basement car park. Each apartment and penthouse is exquisitely decorated with top of the range fittings and finishes, which complement the quality of the design and ambience.

Hindmarsh engaged extensively with the City of Sydney Council. Access was extremely challenging. The implementation of a temporary traffic management plan was a condition of consent. Community liaison was particularly important due to the prestigious residential location of the project and was conducted in a manner which ensured ongoing harmonious local relations throughout construction.

To establish quality benchmarks, Hindmarsh set up a prototype apartment. Due to the success of the pre-sales, one of the earliest completed apartments was set up as a display apartment for the second round of sales. Safe access to the public to this unit was maintained at all times up until completion.

We adopted and implemented Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP) aimed at defect minimisation and the provision of enhanced quality. Operation and Maintenance Manuals were prepared and Purchaser Packs made available for all apartment purchasers.

Given the luxurious nature of the development, a dedicated handover manager was allocated to the development for 3 months after completion, to assist the owners with operations and commissioning.
