Parnell Building Refurbishment, University of Queensland

This project involved the refurbishment of an existing research facility in the School of Physics into a full-scale scientific research and laboratory suite.

The refurbishment was carried out on an unoccupied floor. However, the floor above continued to be occupied, so appropriate processes were employed to ensure the safety and convenience of staff and students.

The existing, poorly-designed facility was totally gutted and redesigned to make best use of the large available floor area.

The extensive services upgrade included mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fire services to meet both BCA Code requirements, as well as the operational requirements of a fully-functioning scientific research laboratory suite.
